(For LDS -In reference to D&C 107:76) Do you know of any bishops who have not had counselors?

D%26amp;C 107:76 But a literal descendant of Aaron has a legal right to the presidency of this priesthood, to the keys of this ministry, to act in the office of bishop independently, without counselors, except in a case where a President of the High Priesthood, after the order of Melchizedek, is tried, to sit as a judge in Israel.

Has it happened recently? (say 1990 or later....)

(For LDS -In reference to D%26amp;C 107:76) Do you know of any bishops who have not had counselors?
I have heard it has not happened since the Church was restored, but that it will in the last days as a sign of the times. It would require a Jew who was a desendent of Aaron to convert, and the likelihood of that happening will most likely happen just prior to His Second Coming. A counselor in the Branch Presidency and I talked about this very thing a few years ago.
Reply:God is awsome
Reply:Some Branches are too small to be Ward and too low in number to have many positions filled. In this case, usually a missionary couple is assigned to the branch and the male is the Branch President. (We don't call them Bishops--although they function as such.)

I don't know of any literal descendants of Aaron serving as Bishop. I did hear an interesting article on public radio about it is believed the lost tribe of Manasseh has been found in India. http://www.jewishagency.org/JewishAgency...
Reply:I am unaware of such an occurrence recently.

What is the reference for b.c.?

I wonder how people identified dates as 1500 b.c., etc. when no one knew Jesus' exact birth?

What is the reference for b.c.?
Jesus' "exact birth" was determined by Catholics around what we call 1000 A.D. (Now, we use C.E., meaning common era, and B.C.E, for before common era.) Most people around 1000 AD were on completely different calendar times, based on their own religion (as in Judiasm) and in other religions and cultures based on the moon and the constellations. The use of the Catholic's BC and AD became the default eventually, and that's just the way it is. And as far as their calculations go, no one could REALLY figure out when Jesus was born. It's really actually irrelevant.

If you are asking about people BEFORE Jesus, it still doesn't matter. They obviously didn't use "BC" or anything else because, as you said, Jesus had not been born yet. And as I said about people even AFTER that, the calendar was never based on Jesus, but usually on harvests and constellation movements. Sometimes it was counted based on the rulers that existed. That's how many people kept track of time as well.
Reply:Arghhhh! They counted from some other significant point in their past.
Reply:before christ...

cause thats why there are historian... and man passes down information....

Can someone explain to me what is copy constructor, operator overloading, pointer and reference in C++?

A copy constructor for a class is a constructor that has an object of the class as its only parameter. It makes a new object that is a duplicate of the original object.

Operator overloading is defining new meaning for existing operators. For example, string classes usually overload the arithmetic "+" operation to mean string concatenation.

A pointer is a variable that holds the address of another variable.

A reference is another name for an existing object. If you have an object A, and you create an object B, which is a reference to A, when you modify B, you are actually modifying A.

When you have a subroutine, and you pass it a variable as a parameter, what the subroutine gets is a copy of the original value. If you changed the parameter in the subroutine, it does nothing to the original variables value.

If, however, you pass a reference to the variable, then any changes you make to the parameter in the subroutine are made to the original value.

What is the difference between copying a value and copying a reference in c language?

In any language, if you pass a variable's reference, then you can change the value of the referenced variable with the code that obtained the reference.

If you pass the value of a variable, the code which obtains it cannot change the value of the original variable.

For example:

int x = 100;

void myfunction(%26amp;int z){

//some code

z = 30

}

would make x = 30!

If you do this:

void myfunction(int z) {

//some code

z = 30

}

x still equals 100.

What is the difference between copying a value and copying a reference in c language?
Copying a value is simply assign the variable to another one

eg:int x = 10;

int y = x /* copy of x is y . Now y= 10 */

Copying a reference means copy the address location of the variable

eg: int x = 10;

int *y = %26amp;x /* here y is assigned with a place holder (addtress location) only

What is a function call by value and call by reference in C++?

Call by reference passes the address of the variable.

Call by value makes a copy of the variable.

If you change the value in the variable when passing by reference you will also change the value in the variable in the previous function.

If you change the value in the variable when passing by value the value in the variable in the previous function will remain the same.

Example code is included so you can see the difference.

#include %26lt;iostream%26gt;

using namespace std;

void call_by_value(int x,int y);

void call_by_reference (int %26amp;x,int %26amp;y);

int main()

{

int a=1;

int b=2;

call_by_value(a,b);

cout%26lt;%26lt;a%26lt;%26lt;' '%26lt;%26lt;b%26lt;%26lt;endl; //a is still 1 and b is still 2

call_by_reference(a,b);

cout%26lt;%26lt;a%26lt;%26lt;' '%26lt;%26lt;b%26lt;%26lt;endl; //a is now 5 and y is now 3

return 0;

}

void call_by_value(int x,int y)

{

x=5;

y=3;

}

void call_by_reference (int %26amp;x,int %26amp;y)

{

x=5;

y=3;

}

What is a function call by value and call by reference in C++?
call by reference is the instance variable numX. call by value is what numX contains 54

How to pass two dimension array to function(by reference in c++)?

arrays are always passed by reference in c++ (so just pass the array like you would an int and it is passed by reference)

How to pass two dimension array to function(by reference in c++)?
void func_for_array(type** array, int size, int size2)

{

};

void main()

{

type array[10][10];

func_for_array(array,10,10);

};

Pass by reference functions in C++?

write a pass by reference functions for 3 courses u take

the course name (without spaces)

number of creds

grade value (decimal number)

so far i got the value ret function right but im stuck my code so far is

#include %26lt;iostream%26gt;

#include %26lt;iomanip%26gt;

#include %26lt;string%26gt;

using namespace std;

//fn prototype for passing num of students in class

void DisplayStudent(double num, double answer);

void DisplayName(coursename%26amp;);

int main ()

{

double num,answer;

cout%26lt;%26lt;"Enter the total number of students in each class \n";

cin%26gt;%26gt;num;

answer=num;

cout%26lt;%26lt;"What course you want to take\n":

cin%26gt;%26gt;name;

//function call

DisplayStudent(answer,num);

DisplayName(coursename%26amp;)

return 0;

}

//function goes here

void DisplayStudent(double num,double answer)

{

cout%26lt;%26lt;" the total number of students="%26lt;%26lt;answer;

}

voidDisplayName(coursename%26amp;)

{ cout%26lt;%26lt;"what course"%26lt;%26lt;answer;

cin%26gt;%26gt;course;

}

if u can help much appreciated !!!!!!!!!!

Pass by reference functions in C++?
#include %26lt;iostream%26gt;

using namespace std;

int calculateGPA(double, double);

void main ()

{

char[] course;

double totalCredits = 0.0;

double totalPoints = 0.0;

double hours, grade;

int continue = 1;

//1 equates to true in C or C++, 0 equates to false

while(continue)

{

cout%26lt;%26lt;"Enter class: ";

cin%26gt;%26gt;course;

cout%26lt;%26lt;"\nEnter credit hours: ";

cin%26gt;%26gt;(double)hours;

cout%26lt;%26lt;"\nEnter course grade: ";

cin%26gt;%26gt;(double)grade;

//add to total credits for GPA calculation

totalCredits += hours;

//this is tricky, I know this calculation because Im a student

//you should know this to from report cards

totalPoints += (grade * hours);

cout%26lt;%26lt;"\nEnter 1 to add another class or 0 to quit";

cin%26gt;%26gt;(int)continue;

}//end while

//once user quits entering info, calculate statistics

cout %26lt;%26lt; "GPA = " %26lt;%26lt; calculateGPA(totalPoints, totalCredits);

}//end main

int calculateGPA(totalPoints, totalCredits)

{

return (int)(totalPoints/totalCredits);

}
Reply:This should be your function prototype:

void DisplayName( string %26amp;courseName );

Keep at it!
