Pass-by-reference is giving actual arguments to a function by "passing" the references of the arguments to the function. In contrast, in pass-by-value, functions have a copy of the arguments passed to them.
C does not really have a pass-by-reference feature. But there are ways around it, by using pointers for example.

If you use the work cock (c o c k) in reference to a male rooster, Yahoo changers it to ****. WHY?
Ive been trying to find out from Yahoo, why they keep changing my word Male Rooster (c o c k ). The question was: My **** won't do his job. What should I do?
My **** won't do his job. My **** is big, but he runs away from hens. I'm trying to raise Rhode Island Reds. I try to inncubate the eggs but the eggs are not fertile. Should I get a new ****, or should I try artificial insemination?
If you use the work cock (c o c k) in reference to a male rooster, Yahoo changers it to ****. WHY?
THEIR HEADS ARE IN THE GUTTER ALSO, JUST LIKE THE MANY PEOPLE THAT ANSWERED YOUR QUESTION. YOU GOT SO MANY ANSWERS TO THIS QUESTION, THAT'S CAUSE THEY SAW THE WORD C O C K, YET WHEN YOU CHANGE THE WORD TO ROOSTER IN YOUR LATER QUESTION, YOU ONLY GOT 3 ANSWERS. YOU NOW SEE WHAT TURNS THESE PEOPLE ON!!!

I am sure there is a list of banned words that trigger automatic censoring, and some of those words have multiple meanings.....some of them not nasty....and then some of them are.
Reply:Because yahoo is lame.... but im addicted anyways.
Reply:well, the system has a dirty motherboard.
Reply:Because it is also a bad word when used in a different context. It doesn't know what you are using it as. Obviously you are not using it in reference to a bird so Yahoo is doing it's job.
Just use rooster instead.
BTW I don't know any farmer that refers to his rooster as his cock.

Reply:Yahoo has a filter for profanity, very few people raise chickens, male or female.

You can't talk about your rooster, you cat or your female dog

Reply:Because even in the poultry business, the rooster is always referred to as a rooster or a cockerel. The only poultry breeders that use it are people who engage in rooster fights.
And for what it's worth, nobody uses artificial insemination in the poultry business.

Dev c++ direct x [linker error] undefined reference to 'Direct3DCreate9@4'?
i got the DirectXSDK from devpack.org with is the write one for devc++ i include this files which i was told to do on some forum but it didn't fix any thing

Simply go to "project-%26gt;project options" and link libd3dx9.a and libd3d9.a. These are the libraries you need.
The preprocessor directives
#pragma comment (lib, "libd3dx9.a")
#pragma comment (lib, "libd3d9.a")
are intended for Visual C++ I believe.
Reply:Direct3DCreate9 is defined in d3d9.h. With Microsoft compiler, import library d3d9.lib is required for d3d9.h. Linking for my D3D9 benchmark includes:
link /LARGEADDRESSAWARE d3d9.lib dxerr9.lib winmm.lib d3dx9.lib kernel32.lib bufferoverflowu.lib user32.lib gdi32.lib winspool.lib comdlg32.lib advapi32.lib shell32.lib

C++ Value of a type enumeration return as reference or output parameter?
I have a value which is of a type of enumeration and I would like to return it as a reference or output parameter in C++. As you can probably tell I know little about C++ hence the question. The following works for a char value :-
MethodA(char *name)
strcpy(name, anotherName)
However I do not know how to do this with a enumeration type.
C++ Value of a type enumeration return as reference or output parameter?
Hi,
Right then. An enumeration is simply an integer. So you treat it as one.
typedef enum
{
beer,
wine,
whiskey
} drinks;
void main()
{
drinks dave_likes, dave_got;
dave_likes = beer;
dave_got = *GetRoundIn(dave);
}
drinks* GetRoundIn(drinks dave_likes)
{
return %26amp;dave_likes;
}
Reply:I'm not sure what you're plannign to do, maybe you can give more information.
enum value_enum {...};
void methodA(value_enum e)
{
// now you can work with e
}
value_enum methodB(...)
{
// can return an enum
}
Reply:you can use the type enumeration how another type.. think to an integer ..
you can use an integer how return value, parameter, reference, pointer.. the same operations for the enumeration type.
Reply:Have you tried using this site.

Reply:example:
if Days will be enum type:
void ReturnDay(Days%26amp; oDay) {
oDay = Monday;
}
MethodA(char *name)
strcpy(name, anotherName)

Hello any one please tell me complete code to find inverse of matrix in c++. or reference to any website?
It depends on the technique you want to use. Look at blas.org or lapack for ready made libraries. Just in case you dont know, matrix inversion is not done in most actual cases. The system is usually solved using one of the known Linear Algebra techniques like QR Factorization, LU decomposition and so on.
